Google sketch up, contribute to make 3d Kerala and Get included to Google Earth
Google Sketchup is a 3D modeling software tool that’s easy to learn, simple to use, and lets you place the models you create in to Google Earth. So people from all over world will be viewing the models you have created and the profile of you. Google Sketchup gives easy tools so that any common person can model any object in 3d. Once you've built your models, you can place them in to Google Earth, or post them to the 3D Warehouse. Google sketchup has following characteristics.
Simple:Learn the small toolset quickly
Fast:Model as fast as you think
Powerful: Design anything from a shoebox to a skyscraper
Flexible: Make your models loose/conceptual or tight/accurate
Fun: Place your models in Google Earth
For examples you may visit: the 3d models tagged Kerala here
Mean while site we recently mentioned acknowledges that Google is conducting a contest to model your campus in 3d and to gain everlasting online glory by getting your model included in to Google Earth. Apart from getting inclusion in Google earth, the winners will be getting an Apple iPod Touch, a Nintendo Wii Console, and a Google t-shirt and hat. We think even getting an inclusion in Google Earth will be a crown and the rest of the things are a bonus. Readers please comment on this.

A nice site to search for Satellite Maps, Blurred satellite maps
Following is a link to a brand new site which allows to search for Satellite Maps a place. You may visit this place in case satellite maps of a place is not available with us. It is not possible for us to provide similar satellite map search facility because of page load time considerations. Probably later we will provide you an alternative.
Zoom-kerala.blogspot.com provides detailed satellite maps of almost all places in Kerala. Most of the other sites providing so called satellite maps of Kerala are not giving exact location specific satellite maps. They may provide you satellite maps in country level or state level zoom. But here you can get satellite maps in street level zoom.
Some times because of technical difficulties even for us, maximum zoom may not be able to provide. This is because google has blurred many places in maps. Exact reason don't know, some times because of security reason, state authorities might have insisted to Google. Some of the places I have noted as blurred are Idukki, Moovattupuzha, Malappuram, Sulthan Bathery etc.In the case of latter partially clear images are available. I assume similar is the case with Google earth too.
